SVF Plug-in

SoftSource is proud to make available a Public Domain version of its SVF Plug-in for enhancing Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, and Opera. The SVF Plug-in views SVF files, which contain general-purpose vector graphics such as that used in CAD programs. SVF is an acronym for Simple Vector Format, a file format SoftSource jointly developed with NCSA. This plug-in is part of the ongoing steps SoftSource has taken towards making Architectural, Engineering and Construction CAD data easily and freely available to all users. The SVF Plug-in works with scaleable vector graphics allowing the user to magnify portions of a drawing or toggle layer visibility without requiring multiple downloads. Thus, the zoom, pan, and layer visibility controls of this plug-in make it a snap to explore even the most complex SVF drawings online. The SVF Plug-in also features navigation via HTML hyperlinks adding a host of elegant, new options for any application or context that requires detailed, structured information and the power of vector graphics.

The Public Domain version of the SVF Plug-in works exactly like the Commercial version except that it expires on 6-month intervals and does not allow stand-alone printing (i.e., only SVF images embedded within an HTML document can be printed).

AutoCAD/DXF Plug-in

SoftSource's AutoCAD/DXF Drawing plug-in can be used to view AutoCAD drawings, including DXF and binary DXF files, from version 2.5 through 2000 of AutoCAD. This plug-in provides zoom, pan, and layer visibility and works with the same browsers, Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer, and Opera as our SVF Plug-in.

The demo works exactly the same as the Commercial version except that it only views the drawing for about 30 seconds. This is OK for viewing drawings locally but is not useful for viewing drawings over the internet.
